Telegram from the Governor of Hong Kong to the

Secretary of State for the Colonies.

Dated 5th May, 1927

(Received Colonial Office 1.15 p.m. 5th May, 1927).

Confidential.

Your telegram of 12th April.

Nemazee understood

to be in considerable financial difficulty and has

sold nearly all his local property. No ground for

suspecting that he has resumed illicit traffic in

opium.

I am not prepared to express any opinion

regarding his future movements.
